About the Director
MY ACCOMPLICE (myaccomplice.co.nz), formed in 2009 by Hannah Banks, Uther Dean and Paul Waggott, is an award-winning Wellington-based theatre company. The company formed while completing their BAs in theatre at Victoria University. Since 2009 they have produced fifteen works as a company in a variety of styles and scales.

James has been unemployed for nearly two years and he’s spent a lot of that time thinking about Winston Churchill and their respective achievements at the age of 24. Is it opportunity that separates the two men, or is James just part of the Worst Generation Ever?

About the Director
JB Malthus is an actor and comedian with the looming spectre of death behind him and a very uncertain future. After finding out that a Bachelor’s degree means nothing in 2015 he has realised that his fortune lays here, in amateur theatre.

About the Writer
Vanessa Immink is an up and coming theatre practitioner, coming to the end of her degree in Musical Theatre at Whitireia. Her recent performances include Tawata Productions “the beautiful ones” and Circa Theatre’s “The Mystery of Edwin Drood”. Vanessa has also worked on the international touring productions of Singin In the Rain and CATS.

An audience eagerly await the opening of a new show. As the curtain draws, it is not quite as they expected, and they start quietly checking the time on their phones, turning to each other in confusion, and waiting for it to be over. With the help of a leader, the audience decide to rebel and perform themselves.

About the writer
After receiving the Dronke Prize at Victoria University, Stella went on to complete her Masters in Directing at Toi Whakaari. In 2013, Stella became the Artistic Director of Long Cloud Youth Theatre. In this role, Stella directed five original works, and an adaptation of Elmer Rice’s The Adding Machine, and was the process director for STAB 2015, Dead Men’s Wars.

NZ as a fundamentalist Christian state. NZ is about to erupt as Australian peacekeepers prepare to exit the country. Insurgence are 99 percent non white and having taken up arms against their oppressors. They have been ghettoised and tortured for their refusal to take on the Christian faith. Four characters take refuge in a shipping container bound for Tasmania, two white one Maori one Indian. The battle for peace continues.

About the Director
Brian Hotter Graduated Toi Whakaari in 2001 as an actor and Victoria Institute of Foreign Letters with a Masters in Creative Writing in 2005. Winner of Chappman Trip Theatre Award for best Wellington Actor in the role of Bob the penguin in Bats STAB production of Heat. After a 10 year hiatus is back with avengance to spore and prosper.

We live in confusing times; information-overloaded and connected across distances, cultures, philosophies. A divide appears. While embracing principles of loving kindness, of acceptance… avoiding anger, flowing like water… We also need to get angry to spark change, avoiding complacency with injustice. Calm down, Get mad.

About the Director
Pete is a fresh face in New Zealand comedy. He was a finalist in Wellington’s Raw Comedy Quest and grand finalist in Wellington’s ‘Last-Comic-Standing’, both in his debut year. Charming and energetic, ready to muse, confuse and amuse. Pete’s chasing the comedy dream, will he catch it? Watch this space.

Shaneel Sidal was born in Suva, Fiji and immigrated to NZ when he was 4. Living in NZ has moulded him into a creative person who is excited in writing and performing in his solo show, A Toi Whakaari Graduate, he “feels so privileged to be working in the industry, you never know what to expect”.

About the ITC
The Aztecs did two-day plays, and had a great time.
They have conceived of, written and rehearsed this piece collaboratively. For this project, The Aztecs are James Cain, Jane Younge, Karin McCracken, Sasha Tilly, Tom Clarke, Pippa Drakeford, Ryan Knighton, Keagan Carr Fransch and Samuel Phillips.
