Short+Sweet Auckland is on for 2016!

Auckland’s annual big-little Festival of 10-minute performances is now taking submissions for its 7th season.

Short+Sweet has run successfully in Auckland since 2010 as a platform for emerging and established creatives to develop and perform new and original work in a professional arts environment. The Festival always brings together a melting pot of professional, emerging and recreational artists in one place and this year the Festival is looking to deliver a rich, multi-lingual Festival full of stories that can speak for and speak to the city of Auckland.

As part of our mission to support new and developing creatives the Festival provides a risk free environment to test and present works never before performed in Auckland with the following:

• Venue
• Technical crew
• Production meetings and pack in slot
• Audition opportunities
• Support from Artistic Curators and Festival team
• Industry experts and audiences to view your work and provide feedback
• Marketing the Festival to the city through web, social media and print
• Ticketing through TAPAC’s Patronbase

We want to hear your voice – if you have a story, idea or work in development that you are eager to bring to the stage, let us know! We are accepting submissions for scripts, directors, actors, choreographers, independent dance companies/groups and independent theatre companies/groups to help us take over Auckland 10-minutes at a time.

For your work to be considered for Short+Sweet Festival Auckland 2016, please first make sure that your piece:

• Has never been staged in Auckland before
• Does not exceed 10 minutes in total length
• Tells a concise and developed story within 10 minutes

*Please note, we are expanding Short+Sweet Theatre to include musical theatre and cabaret pieces in its four Top Bill seasons.
