SHORT + SWEET DANCE
AUCKLAND
Appe-tight
Show 2 | 13 – 14 September
-
How many times do you want it? How many times do you think about it? How big is your appe-tight and what lengths will you go to to get your fix? What is it that you crave, desire, yearn for? What does it sound like, smell like, feel like, taste like? It is sublime, it is excruciating, it is a euphoria that is perfect in its endless emptiness. An exploration of our desires and the way they shape our characters and lives.

Choreographer Olivia O’Brien and Jacob Reynolds (Auckland, NZ)
Independent Dance Company OJ Productions -
Olivia started dancing at age four in Christchurch. Her love of dance grew and she continued her training first with the Hagley Dance company and subsequently at Unitec. Jacob started dancing aged four in Wellington, beginning with ballet and expanding into multiple genres of dance. His first experience with contemporary dance began training at Unitec. Since they have both been dancing somewhat poorly since the age of four they hope to pursue careers as choreographers. Olivia, Jacob and their dancers are currently third-year students at Unitec and are excited at the prospect of becoming struggling artists next year.
