    FAGMOB is a cutthroat sisterhood of women and gender diverse people who are fighting with the same goal in mind. That goal is to reclaim our time, reclaim the rights to our feminine bodies & most importantly retaliate against the societal conservatism that condemns our gender and sexual orientations.     JENNIFER DE LEON Choreographer, performer, dance teacher, Director of Poyema Dance pick-up company; registered Psychotherapist and Dance Movement Therapist, part-time academic and writer. Trained in UK and USA. Teaches and works from her studio in Grey Lynn. She works with Dance Psychotherapy – The Healing Dance. Her favourite colour is a vivid, translucent green.   • About the Choreographer/Group

    Jireh is a Samoan developing artist, born and raised in West Auckland. He is currently in his third year of studying a Bachelor of Dance Studies and is a hip hop dancer for the Brady Bunch Academy. He recently travelled to Australia for his third year tour and competed at the World Hip Hop Championships held in Phoenix, Arizona. Jireh is most passionate about culture and the ability to locate yourself within movement.

    In goes your t-shirt, trousers and a pair of socks. Out comes your t-shirt and trousers BUT ONLY ONE SOCK. For decades we have sacrificed socks to the veracious and elusive monster that lives in washing machines, preying on pairs of socks, devouring one and leaving the other forever odd.

  • About the Choreographer/Group

    Anahera Ngatai Ngati Porou and Tainui Anahera completed her BPSA in Contemporary Dance in 2017. Since graduating she has been creating short works and presenting them at festivals such as ‘Feminine Tripper’ in Norway and at venues such as the Royal Vauxhall in London. Anahera is currently working as an intern with Tempo Dance Festival and Toi Maori Aotearoa.

    Born and raised in Taiwan, Yin-Chi is an Honours Degree Dance Studies student at the University of Auckland Dance Studies Degree. Aside from dance she is also a Chinese martial arts athlete who is passionate about researching the similarities and difference between the two art forms.

  • About The Piece

    Eyes staring, shadows floating, white bird fleeting, like a heavy stretchy filled up balloon, skin grazing burning on steel. An interpolation of multiple meanings, perspectives, behaviours, reactions, and responses between two individuals. Keyframe explores the point of contact between two people meeting for the first time, and the internal conversations, exchanges and the potential conflicts that may occur.

    Emma Cosgrave is a recent Dance Studies graduate from the University of Auckland, where she is currently completing her Honours postgraduate study, 2018. Emma has worked with a range of choreographers, including but not limited to Sarah Foster-Sproull, Sarah Knox, Taane Mete, Taiaroa Royal and Natalie Maria Clark. Recently, Emma was awarded the DANZ delegate for 2018, and is currently performing as a guest artist with Footnote New Zealand Dance and Guangdong Modern Dance Company choreographed by Sarah Foster-Sproull. Emma is passionate about choreography, performance and research. As a freelancer and emerging performer. Emma is grasping every opportunity that arises to learn, grow and extend herself as an artist.

  • About The Piece

    Sika Dance Crew is a multicultural group of dancers from all around the world: Chinese, Singaporean, Japanese, European, Kiwi and Samoan. Each member is trained and skilled in different styles of dance and we wished to reflect this melting pot of culture and movement styles within our piece; using hiphop as our foundation. Our aim is to explore how dance can transcend language barriers and combine different dance disciplines into a harmonious fusion of our personal histories, culture and connection with one another as a team.

    Sika Dance Crew was founded in June, 2016 by Sunny Sun and Anna Wang. We started off small as a 7 person crew that loved dance and creating with one another. Over the last 2.5 years we have expanded into 24 members with 8 passionate performance members. We wish to be a fluid crew, that explores new styles and fusions, is open and friendly with other creatives and continues to push boundaries together as a team.

    This piece is a reflection on life as a constant state of in-between. Life and death. Earth and sky. In-breath and out-breath. It echoes all the spaces ever encountered; shows the transition between them; and highlights that eventually, our response to being transient is to grow. This is a contemplation of human experience.

  • About the Choreographer/Group

    Emily Moffat is an emerging artist who is interested in working with a hybrid of art forms. A graduate of the University of Auckland Dance Studies Program, Emily is currently training at React Circus Studio under their Rise Mentorship and aims to explore the blending of circus and dance. Emily often considers her work to be experimental, and enjoys working in a collaborative way.
