Anti-Social Media
Show 2 | 5 – 7 September
-
There is nothing ‘social’ about social media.
The way we communicate has radically changed in the last decade, and it has had a major impact on our mental health.
#Facts:
1) 1.495 billion people will use Facebook today.
2) Twitter was almost called ‘Friendstalker’.
3) Social media is linked with increased rates of anxiety and depression.
In an online world of YOLO and FOMO, how much control does social media really have IRL? Home alone on a Saturday night – Sarah is about to find out. This dark comedy full of LOLs, OMGs and a few WTFs.

Tanydd’s directing debut in S+S Auckland is on a topic close to her #heart: Social media and mental health. Here’s the punch line: IRL she is a social media consultant. LOL! She has a background in acting and music, plus a small stint in an air guitar band. Both online and offline, her passion is in providing people with the tools for confidence, and taking on the tough conversations.
